Edgar Paul Crochet

Paul was my eldest brother. He was 26 years older than me. I looked up to him as more of a father
figure. He would take me on family vacations with his family. His children (my cousins) and I were
the same ages so I saw them more as cousins than as nieces and nephews.
I really appreciated all that he had done for me because our parents were too old and tired to
entertain a teenager. I did get the chance to thank him for all he had done the day before he passed
away.
My family finally got in touch with me after trying for several weeks to let me know he was not
going to make it. I did not even know he had cancer until then. I got the call on Tuesday June 23rd,
went to see him on Wednesday June 24th and he passed away on Thursday June 25th.
I thank God that he gave my brother and me a chance to say goodbye. He now rests peacefully in
heaven with our Dad, Mom, Sister, Grandma and niece.
